Parliamentary delegation at 6th World Water Forum in Marseille
On 15-16 March, AWEPA has facilitated the participation of a delegation from the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) and the CEMAC Parliament to a Parliamentarian Conference at the 6th World Water Forum in Marseille, France.  During the meeting, the PAP members presented their regional commitments and adopted a nine point road map concerning water and sanitation access in neglected areas.

Furthermore, participants adopted a manifesto that aims at mobilizing parliamentarians to raise awareness around the issues of access to safe drinking water and sanitation. One of the recommendations included is that access to safe drinking water and sanitation for all, in terms of availability, quality, acceptability, accessibility and costs, particularly for vulnerable populations, is a priority and the allocation of financial resources to these issues at all levels is needed. It will help the national parliamentarians to share expertise concerning good practices in water governance.
