Private Sector Development (PSD) plays an increasingly prominent role in international development debates and budgets. What are the reasons for this trend? What do different actors mean by private sector development? Which strategies and theoretical approaches are applied? Which role can be attributed to the financial sector and to industrial and educational policy? Which lessons can be drawn from existing experiences?
